FIT – HISTORY is a group of people who work to preserve the COLD WAR history of the district of Lower Franconia of Germany’s Northern Bavaria.
We think it’s about time to document the remains, especially those of the military presence of the US Army in our area. Much is already lost. There are parts of the Border that have remained as monuments until today. But there is nothing that keeps the memory of places like Camp-Wildflecken, Daley-Barracks or Camp Lee.
With the US Army leaving, most of the German-American Friendship left as well. But it was America, that made sure that we could grow up and live in peace and freedom. Friendship with the USA is very important to us, we are convinced of the fact that Germany’s future should be side by side with America.
We support Veterans by gathering information and are conducting tours to places like Camp Wildflecken. For more information on our tour-program please visit our Activities - Section.
